In a shocking turn of events in the hectic world of social media, while the main platforms such as Facebook and Twitter are undergoing an unprecedented level of censorship, Elon Musk, the multi-billionaire behind the companies Tesla and Space X, launches a paving stone in the pond: he is buying Twitter for the princely sum of 40 billion dollars! He had expressed serious doubts over the last two years about the relevance of the measures adopted by various governments to deal with the COVID virus, but he no longer wants to live in a world where freedom of expression is severely violated. He writes on his Twitter account, where 90 million people follow him on that platform: “Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated,” Musk says(1).
Reactions were swift, how can one of our own – aren’t the ultra-rich the ones who run the game and control the information – turn around and throw this grain of sand that risks stopping the beautiful mechanism behind our thirst for control and enslavement of populations? Right here in the province of Quebec, the Legault government has invested more than $200 million in propaganda to push people into vaccination, the one and only supposed cure for the COVID virus. A significant number of high-level scientists contradict this, such as Dr. Didier Raoult, who states that treatments such as hydroxychloroquine or ivermectin have been proven to work. However, these scientists are not invited on the TV channels, especially not here in Quebec, where the debate is totally absent, and where the medical profession is muzzled!
Clearly, mainstream media journalists, like Isabelle Hachey of La Presse+, are betraying their allegiance to the god of censorship when she says of Musk: “Already, the businessman is promising to free the blue bird from its cage and make Twitter a paradise of free speech. Freedom without limits, without surveillance, without censorship. And that’s not good news.“(2) And she adds: “For the past two years, the pandemic has reminded us of what a plague online misinformation is.“(2) Do these pseudo-journalists read what they write? Free speech, not “good news”? And disinformation orchestrated by the mainstream media, non-existent, Ms. Hachey? Indeed, freedom of expression is not good news for YOU, Mrs. Hachey, it is not good for your business of smearing and demolishing those who hold a different discourse, who have no conflict of interest!
Elon Musk, with his spectacular acquisition, is giving hope to millions of people who have seen freedom and the free flow of information restricted like never before in the last two years. He has just been named an Honorary Guide by Maitreya Rael (4), a title given to people who by their writings or actions advance humanity. And Musk’s position follows the philosophical trajectory of the Prophet Rael regarding freedom of speech: “The Internet revolution is a wonderful weapon against these bad media, and fortunately news sites have already replaced traditional media and driven many out of business. The diversification of information sources and the possibility to have different points of view on world events, thanks to the Internet, are the solution to the problem.”(3)
More and more people are abandoning the traditional media for information, and despite Ms. Hachey’s concerns, this trend will continue to grow, and it is irreversible. The repeated lies of an entire journalistic community as well as the obvious manipulation of information for the benefit of large corporations or corrupt governments will have sounded the death bell for those who have betrayed their profession.
