Montreal, June 27, 2018 — On June 9 and 10, the humanitarian organization Clitoraid participated in the first Festivulve in Montreal to promote its second mission, in Nairobi, Kenya, where clitoral repair surgery will be offered to excised women. The non-profit organization also offers postoperative therapy to help these women experience sexual pleasure and regain their dignity.Ms. Sylvie Elliott, Montreal representative for Clitoraid, declared: “More than 2,000 people walked in front of the Clitoraid booth during these two days. Clitoraid won half the Festivulve profits, thanks to the votes of visitors during the event. This amount, in addition to the donations raised, will be used to fund medical supplies and other surgical-related expenses. A big thank you to all those who voted for us!”
The creation of the non-profit organization Clitoraid was inspired by the international spiritual leader Rael, a committed defender of human rights and especially women’s rights.
Clitoraid also has for mission to educate the public in order to eliminate taboos about sexual pleasure and to work for the abolition of excision throughout the world.
