Message to the Wet’suwet’en Nation to the Wet’suwet’en Nation Hereditary Chiefs

I am writing to you as a member of the First Nations Fraternity, comity of the Raelian Movement, to express my support for your opposition to the construction of the Coastal GasLink Pipeline, a project that, among other things, cuts your territory in half.

The Supreme Court of Canada recognizes the Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs as the supreme authorities of the Nation. However, our governments have not obtained the free, prior and informed consent of your Nation before proceeding with this mega pipeline project, when you have every right to decide on economic developments on your lands in accordance with your traditions and laws.

In support of the Wet’suwet’en, the members of the First Nations Fraternity have contacted the federal and British Columbia governments to request that they put an end to the criminalization of the Wet’suwet’en as protectors of the land and to the harassment and arbitrary arrests by RCMP officers.

Maitreya Rael “…advocates the restitution of land, the resurrection of indigenous customs, religions, languages and the federation into a united continent that incorporates in harmony and social justice all original and immigrant populations.” (Contact # 328 – January 30, 61 aH)

I am hopeful that our letter will not leave the governments indifferent, that your rights will finally be respected, and that you will be able to live in peace on your lands.

Sincerely,

Louise Turcotte
